LORETTO, Pa. (Oct. 15, 2012) – Josh Thiel (Leesburg, Va./Heritage) of the Saint Francis University football team earned national honorable mention Placekicker Performer of the Week honors by the College Football Performance Awards Monday.
 
The Red Flash fell to No. 24 Albany 36-13 Saturday but when called upon Thiel made the most of his chances. The senior kicker hit a 38-yard field goal and a 44-yarder that put Saint Francis up 13-6 with just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter. The Leesburg, Va. native has now made six consecutive field goals of 40 yards or better, dating back to last season and is a perfect 5-of-5 on the season.
 
Saint Francis returns home this Saturday Oct. 20 for a homecoming showdown with Northeast Conference foe Wagner beginning at noon.
