LORETTO, Pa. (April 11, 2012) – Saint Francis University Director of Athletics Bob Krimmel and head men's soccer coach Michael Casper have announced Bryce Cooper as the new assistant men's soccer coach.
 
“I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Saint Francis University Red Flash family and more specifically the men's soccer program,” Cooper said. “I would like to thank head coach, Michael Casper, Director of Athletics Bob Krimmel and the rest of the athletics department for the opportunity to work with the men's soccer program and the rich tradition that comes along with it.”
 
Cooper comes to Saint Francis after spending the past three seasons as an assistant at Butler University. During his time with the Bulldogs, the men's soccer program made two appearances in the Horizon League Championship match and captured its first league title since 2001, qualifying for the 2010 NCAA tournament.
 
On its way to the 2010 title, Butler compiled an undefeated 16-0 regular season record, which earned them the No. 21 ranking in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division I Pre-Season Poll in 2011.
 
“I think Bryce will be a tremendous asset to our program as he brings a lot of experience with him to the position,” Casper said. “He is passionate, hard working and knowledgeable about the game of soccer and I am looking forward to working together as we strive to bring RED FLASH men's soccer to new heights.”
 
Prior to his time at Butler, Cooper spent two seasons as the head coach at Roncalli High School in Indianapolis, the best two seasons in Roncalli school history. He guided the Rebels to a 35-10-0 record in his two years as well as two sectional championships and two regional titles. In 2007 he was named the Indianapolis Star Super Team “Coach of the Year”.
 
In addition to his collegiate and high school coaching, Cooper has spent a lot of time on the club level. He served as head coach of the Carmel United Soccer Club, was a head and assistant coach with the Indiana Olympic Development Program and worked as the director of coaching and player development with the Noblesville United Soccer Club for three years.
 
“Saint Francis has built a winning program focused on excellence and achievement while demanding high standards on and off the field,” Cooper said. “I'm very excited about building upon those standards and achieving even higher goals and standards for this program.
