BOX SCORE GAME HIGHLIGHTS - NEC FRONT ROW HIGHLIGHTS - POST GAME PRESS CONFERENCE

LORETTO, Pa. (Jan. 21, 2013) –
The Saint Francis University women's basketball team rallied in the second half but fell to Quinnipiac, Monday, 85-69, in DeGol Arena.

Alli Williams (Altoona, Pa./Bishop Guilfoyle) missed matching her career-high by just one, but it was not enough for the Red Flash (9-8, 2-0) as the Bobcats (15-2, 6-0) stayed unbeaten in the league action. Quinnipiac got 20-plus point efforts from both Felicia Barron and Jasmine Martin. Barron complied 28 points while also posting seven steals. The Bobcats forced the Red Flash into 28-plus turnovers for the second consecutive game. The Red Flash turned the ball over 22 times in the first half en route to 31 for the game.

The Red Flash rallied in the second half behind the strong play of Williams and Robin Perkins (Willingboro, N.J./Trenton Catholic) off the bench and cut the Quinnipiac lead from 17 at the half, down to just three-points with 11:15 remaining in regulation. The Red Flash would get no closer and reverted to first half mistakes late in the second half. Kelley Doogan (Claymont, Del./Ursuline Academy) connected on a pair of second-half 3-pointers, but the Flash could not maintain its moment in front of a raucous home crowd.

The game started tight but the Bobcats broke the game open with a 15-0 run from the 6:25 mark to the 4:47. The run was powered by defense as the Red Flash failed to record a field goal from the 12:14 mark to the 2:25 mark of the first half. The drought of nearly 10 minutes turned a one point lead for the Bobcats into a 20-point advantage. The Flash offense woke up in the late stages of the half but the Bobcats still took a 42-25 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Flash posted a season-high 22 turnovers in the first half.

The Red Flash return to action Saturday with a home contest against Wagner in DeGol Arena with tip off slated for 1 p.m.
