Löfgren earns a spot on Academic All-District II At-Large team

LORETTO, Pa. (May 16, 2013) – For the second consecutive year, Saint Francis University swimmer Elise Löfgren (Molnlycke, Sweden/Hulebacks) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District II First Team.

Now, the junior Chemistry major who has maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA will advance to the national ballot with a chance to become SFU's 38th Capital One Academic All-America® selection.

A Northeast Conference individual champion 13 times over, Löfgren has played a large role in helping the Red Flash to NEC team titles in each of her first three seasons in Loretto.  At the 2013 NEC championship, she won the 200 individual medley, the 100 breaststroke and helped the SFU 400 medley relay to gold en route to being named Saint Francis' first-ever NEC Swimmer of the Meet.

Löfgren is the fourth Red Flash student-athlete to earn all-district honors this season.

A student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 to be eligible for nomination to the All-District ballot. CoSIDA's District II is comprised of Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
