Women's Basketball Adds Two Players

LORETTO, Pa. (July 17, 2013) – Saint Francis women's basketball coach Joe Haigh announced the addition of Taylor Allison (State College, Pa./State College) and Corissa Archer (Clermont, Fla./East Ridge) to the team's roster Wednesday. Allison enters after a highly successful career at State College High School, while Archer joins the Red Flash from Broward College.

Taylor Allison
A co-captain of the Lady Little Lions as a senior, Allison averaged 6.3 points per game while posting five double-digit scoring totals. She scored a season-high 20 points against Cumberland Valley in January, making four three pointers.

Allison sports a 4.6 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her combination of athletics and academics earned her the James Snyder Award, sponsored by the Centre Daily Times. It is given annually to a male and a female student-athlete who also demonstrate excellence in the classroom as well as being a good citizen in the school and community.

She left behind quite a legacy at State College as the "Taylor Allison (State College, Pa./State College) Above and Beyond Award" demonstrates. It was established to honor the senior girls' basketball player who does more than average on and off the court.

"It's always exciting to add student-athletes with local ties, especially one so accomplished as a leader on her team and in the community," Haigh said.

Corissa Archer
Archer transfers after playing her sophomore season at Broward College. She appeared in 24 games for the Seahawks, averaging 8.4 points and five rebounds per game.

"Corissa is an extremely athletic and fast forward who will really thrive in our fast-paced system," Haigh said. "She plays the game with great energy and passion."

Also described as a great rebounder and defensive player, Archer can hold her own at the offensive end. She shot 55.3 percent from the field last season at Broward.

The Red Flash is coming off a trip to the Women's Basketball Invitational last season.
