Pastorek Named Women’s Basketball Director of Operations

LORETTO, Pa. (August 30, 2013) – Saint Francis University women's basketball head coach Joe Haigh announced the addition of Sarah Pastorek as the Director of Operations.

"I'm very excited that Sarah is going to join our staff as the Director of Operations," Haigh said. "She was a great high school player at Bishop McCort, and then went on to a decorated career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Sarah is a very hard worker, has a great attitude and energy, and will be a major contributor to our program this year."

Pastorek enjoyed a stellar four-year playing career at IUP. She was named to the All-PSAC first team in both 2011-12 and 2012-13. Pastorek was also a two-time Division II All-American and scored over 1,000 points in her career. She graduated from IUP in May with two degree's, one in English and one in Journalism.

Before college, Pastorek played at Bishop McCort High School in nearby Johnstown, Pa. While in high school, she was a basketball camp instructor and taught fundamentals, skills, and teamwork to both boys and girls.

"I am both excited and thankful for this tremendous opportunity and am looking forward to working with such an experienced staff, all of whom are great people," Pastorek said. "We are looking forward to a great season and to coaching a talented and motivated group of girls. Everyone has been helping make my transition extremely enjoyable."

Pastorek will also be pursuing a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management while at SFU.
