School Records Broken as SFU Competes at ECAC/IC4A Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. (April 18, 2014)
– Several school records were broken over the weekend as select student-athletes from the Saint Francis University track and field teams competed at the 2014 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships.
 
Brittany Johnson (Vienna, Va./George C. Marshall) finished as the runner-up in the 200m dash by posting a school record time of 23.32. Johnson also placed fourth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.83.
 
Paris Cotman (Richmond, Va./Meadowbrook) ran a personal record 24.54 in the 200m dash to finish 24th in the event, the time is the second-best ever at SFU. Cotman also finished 16th in the 400m dash after posting a time of 56.04.
 
The women's 400-meter relay team of Mykael Dixon (Baltimore, Md./Milford Mills), Carly Petney (Gallitzin, Pa./Penn Cambria), Keishawnna Burts (Akron, Ohio/North), and Johnson placed 10th with a time of 47.01.
 
Emma O'Hara (Abingdon, England/Larkmead School) finished fourth in the hammer throw after registering a 58.70m toss.
 
On the men's side, Ryan Steinbugl (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) registered a 4.95m pole vault to break his own school record and place ninth in the event.
 
Daryian Miles (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) clocked a personal record in the 200m dash with a time of 21.71, which placed him in 24th. Miles also finished 13th in the 100m dash semifinals after running a 10.84.
 
The men's 400m-relay team of Purcell Freeman (Columbia, Md./Long Reach), James Lassiter (Philadelphia, Pa./Bishop McDevitt), Miles, and Matthew Brown (Elkridge, Md./Long Reach) clocked a 41.46, which placed them 11th and now ranks second all-time at Saint Francis.
