Dickson Named CFPA Running Back of the Week

LORETTO, Pa. – Junior running back Khairi Dickson (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) was named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Running Back Performer of the Week for his 244-yard, two-touchdown performance at No. 11 Fordham on Saturday.

Dickson's 244 yards after the first week of the season has him ranked number one in the FCS nationally in rushing. He surpassed his previous career high of 148 and became the first Saint Francis rusher to surpass 200 yards in a game since Kyle Harbridge (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) rushed for 291 yards against Fordham last September.

His 244 yards came just four yards shy of breaking into the school's top-five list for yards in a game. Michael Hall rushed for 248 yards against La Salle on Oct. 4, 2003. Harbridge holds the school record with 346 yards against Morehead State on Sept. 17, 2011.

Dickson had his longest run of his career, a 34-yarder in the fourth quarter to set up his first score. He then followed that with a new career record, a 48-yarder that did go for a score. That gave Dickson back-to-back season openers with two rushing touchdowns. He did the same thing last year at Georgia Southern.

The Red Flash opens the home portion of its schedule Saturday against Clarion at 1:00 p.m.
