Day Two ResultsCLEVELAND, Ohio – The Saint Francis swimming team concluded day two of the three-day Magnus Cup on Saturday. The Magnus Cup is hosted by Cleveland State University. The Red Flash competed in two relays and five individual events on Saturday.
Senior
Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School) was the Red Flash's top finisher in two of the individual events. Rogers posted her best time of the Fall in the 100-yard Breaststroke, with a time of 1:05.24, to finish sixth out of 40 competitors. She also had SFU's top time in the 100-yard Butterfly, with a pace of 59.14, also a season-best.
Sophomore
Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) completed the 100-yard Butterfly in 1:00.14. She also recorded a time of 1:56.10 in the 200-yard Freestyle to finish 25th out of 40 swimmers.
Fellow sophomore
Emma Karell (Norrtälje, Sweden/Täby Swim Club) was the top Red Flash competitor in the 400-yard IM, with a time of 4:37.86 to win her heat, while junior
Paige McLean (Bolton, Ontario/St. Michael Catholic Secondary) finished 21st out of 40 swimmers, with a pace of 4:44.94. She also competed in the 100-yard Breaststroke, finishing in 1:09.27.
Senior
Sara Dieterich (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) recorded SFU's top time in the 100-yard Backstroke, with a pace of 1:01.42. Sophomore
Alicia Tiberino (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill) finished the event in 1:02.34.
In the 200-yard Medley Relay, Lafferty, McLean,
Jessie Reilly (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Upper St. Clair) and Rogers combined for a time of 1:48.55 to finish 13th out of 27 relay teams.
Karell, Lafferty, Reilly and Rogers teamed up in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay, placing 15th with a time of 7:58.08. Dieterich, McLean,
Rory O'Dell (Chapel Hill, N.C./Northwood) and
Natalie Tedjasukmana (Anaheim, Calif./Mater Dei) finished 17th with a pace of 8:11.10.
The Magnus Cup concludes on Sunday with the 1,650 Freestyle, 100 IM, 50 Butterfly, 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 50 Backstroke, 200 Butterfly and 400 Freestyle Relay.
