LORETTO, Pa. (June 19, 2015) – Saint Francis U women's basketball head coach
Joe Haigh announced the addition of Marwan Miller as an assistant coach to his staff.
"I'm very happy to announce the addition of Marwan Miller to our coaching staff. Marwan has had a good part in the resurgence of Ohio U Women's Basketball under coach Bob Bolden the past couple years. He has a great reputation as a teacher and mentor in the high school and club scene in Ohio and has had great relationships with the former Saint Francis student-athletes he coached prior to their time in Loretto.
Marwan has also proven to be an effective recruiter in his tenure at Ohio," said Haigh.
Miller comes to Loretto after two seasons as the women's basketball director of operations at Ohio University. He was responsible for all logistics of travel and lodging for the Ohio travel party of 23-25 people for every trip. He also handled all camp organization and scheduling for the different camp options. Miller was an assistant coach in 2015 from January to April where he was able to coach, recruit, and scout while another coach was on maternity leave.
"I want to thank
Joe Haigh for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to prove my worth and to carry on the Saint Francis mission within our program," said Miller.
Miller was also a senior staff member with the Ohio Girls Basketball Report (OGBR) from 2004-13 where he provided talent evaluations for all levels of prospective student-athletes. He also was the program director and head coach for the Ohio Glory Basketball Club from 2004-12. Miller was responsible for the direction and organization of all on and off court activities within the program.
He has additional professional experience as the head varsity girl's basketball coach at Columbus South High School in 2008-09 and the assistant varsity girl's basketball coach at Columbus Africentric Early College in 2006-07.
Miller earned his Bachelor's Degree from Franklin University in Organizational Communication in May 2012.
He is a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association as well as the Adidas Top Ten All-American Selection Committee.
