Women's Soccer Announces Soccer Without Borders Match

Flash Points:
  • All funds raised will go to Soccer Without Borders
  • Funds will then be matched by Positive Tracks
  • Hollidaysburg YMCA will play at halftime

LORETTO, PA- Saint Francis women's soccer is proud to announce a Soccer Without Borders fundraising match set for Sunday, October 16th versus LIU Brooklyn at noon.

Soccer Without Borders (SWB) is an organization that uses soccer as a means to help impoverished kids and countries. In addition to organizing soccer clinics, games and leagues across the globe, they provide: "academic and language development support, high school and college preparation, as well as workshops on nutrition, wellness, mindfulness, and healthy relationships." Recent women's soccer alum Hallie Rexer (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) volunteered with Soccer without Borders last year, developing the connection between the organization and the team.

SWB also has partnered with Positive Tracks, a non-profit youth development organization that encourages kids to get active. Positive Tracks is matching every donation the team raises dollar for dollar, doubling the amount that will be raised.

The team will be taking donations at the gate prior to the noon match and Soccer Without Border t-shirts will also be on sale. You can also directly donate to the SWB fundraising campaign using the team's online donation portal. The Hollidaysburg YMCA Youth Soccer League will also be playing scrimmages during halftime.
