Men's Soccer Announces 2016 Recruiting Class

LORETTO, PA- The Saint Francis men's soccer team is excited to announce the recruiting class for the 2016 season.
 
Jacob Boehme (McConnelsburg, PA/McConnelsburg)
 
Boehme is a 5-8 150 pound midfielder and hails from McConnelsburg, in south central Pennsylvania. Boehme was named PSCA All-State as a senior as well as the 2015 Public Opinion Player of the Year. He helped lead the Spartans of McConnelsburg to a 33-6 record over his final two seasons while scoring 36 goals and helping on 22 more. Boehme is also a two-time Sideling Hill League First-Team All-Star. Jacob is the son of John and Christy Boehme. 
 
Wyatt Durbin (Richmond, KY/Shattuck-St. Mary's (MN))
 
Durbin is a 5-10 165 pound keeper from Richmond, Kentucky and played high school soccer for Shattuck-St. Mary's in Fairbault, Minnesota. Durbin has been a member of both the Under-16 and Under-18 United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA).  Durbin was listed in the 2016 IMG 150 Player Pool and is a three-time participant in the Y-League Olympic Development Program.  Wyatt is the son of Rohn and Patti Durbin and plans to be a physical therapy major. 
 
Jacob Gratzer (Olmstead Falls, OH/St. Edward's)
 
Jacob is a 5-9 160 pound defending midfielder from Olmstead Falls, Ohio, just outside of Cleveland. Like Durbin, Gratzer has been part of the Olympic Development Program for three seasons.  In addition to playing for St. Edward's, Gratzer led the USSDA Cleveland Internationals club team in goals and assists in 2014 and in assists in 2015. He helped the Barbarians Futsal Club to the State and Regional titles in 2015 and was invited to the US Futsal ID Camp in 2015. Jacob is the son of Richard and Mary Gratzer. An honor student at St. Edwards with a 4.06 GPA, Gratzer intends to major in petroleum and natural gas engineering. 
 
Benjamin Hajji
 
Hajji is a 5-8 160 pound midfielder from Linderberg, Oslo, Norway.  Hajji was named to the Norwegian Junior National Team where he helped the team earn a silver medal in 2015. Hajji also helped his local team, Stromsgodset, win the League Championship in 2014 and led the team in assists in 2012. Hajji also has two call-ups to the under-17 Moroccan National Team.  Benjamin is the son of Ann-Kristin Dahl-Hajji and Benyones Hajji. 
 
Christian Kirchoff (Aarhaus, Denmark)

Kirchhoff is a 5-11 175 pound midfielder from Aarhus, Denmark.  Kirchoff helped his Randers FC Club team win three league championships and one national championship. There he has played versus the likes of Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Ajax, and was in the Danish National Team Pool for U16. Over the past few years, he has been invited to train with a Danish Premier League Team, the top level in Denmark, Hobro FC. Christian is the son of Katherine and Soeren Kirchhoff. 
 
Kyle Moerschbacher (State College, PA/State College)
 
Moerschbacher is a six foot, 180 pound striker from State College, Pennsylvania and State College Area high school. Moerschbacher led State College in goals and assists as a junior and netted the district 6 game-winning goal as a senior. He was also the leading goal scorer for the CSA Centre Force Club Team.  Kyle graduated from State College with honors and is the son of Bill and Stacy Moerschbacher. 
 
CJ Smolyn (Holland, PA/Germantown Academy)
 
Smolyn is a 6-1 196 pound midfielder from Holland, Pennsylvania in eastern Pennsylvania. Smolyn has served as the captain of USSDA CFC-Delco as well as the Philly-Area Futsal Club. He helped the Futsal Club to region and Atlantic titles and was twice a national semi-finalist. He also was a starting midfielder for the Match Fit Academy, helping them earn a playoff spot. CJ is the son of Tracey Smolyn and Chris Smolyn Sr. 
 
 
"I'm very excited about this group both as quality soccer players and good students as well," head coach Paulo Neto said. "This is my first recruiting class at SFU and I believe it to be a very special one. Each player individually brings something unique to our mix, and collectively, they are a good fit for what our program needs at this point. We are confident they will develop even more in the conducive environment we've built at SFU men's soccer, and will help us to maintain the winning culture our program has earned over the years".
