LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis football team finishes its four-game road trip this Saturday at No. 22 Albany.  The Red Flash and the Great Danes will kick off at 7 p.m. at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.  The game will be livestreamed on Great Dane TV.
 
Head Coach Greg Gattuso leads the Great Danes.  Gattuso is in his third year at Albany, where he is 13-13.  Gattuso has 15 years of experience as a head coach, with a 110-45 career record.  He went 97-32 in 12 years as head coach at Duquesne and made assistant coaching stops at Pitt and Maryland before taking over at Albany.
 
The Great Danes are 3-0 this season and ranked 22nd in the STATS FCS Poll.  Albany opened the season with a 22-16 win over Buffalo, an FBS team and a 35-7 win at Rhode Island.
 
Last week, Albany earned a 45-28 win against Holy Cross in its home opener.  The Great Danes scored 28 unanswered points in the second quarter to break the game open.  Albany totaled 403 yards, including 220 rushing.  Quarterback Neven Sussman completed 8-of-12 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns.  Both touchdown catches were made by Zee Roberson, who totaled 142 yards on five catches.  Running back Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks recorded 183 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries.
 
Defensively, Albany allowed 471 total yards, including 353 passing yards.  The Great Danes recorded three sacks and two turnovers.  Linebacker Abner Logan led the unit with 13 tackles, including four solo, a sack and a fumble recovery.  Michael Nicastro added 11 stops, with three solo, half a tackle for loss, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.  Defensive ends Brian Dolce and Malachi Hoskins each recorded a sack, with Hoskins adding a forced fumble, while safety Mason Gray had an interception.
 
Through three games, Albany is averaging 34 points per game, ranking 28th in the FCS.  The Great Danes also rank 87th in the FCS in total yards per game, averaging 318.3.  Albany averages 119.3 passing yards per game, ranking 108th in the nation, and 199 rushing yards, ranking 28th.
 
Sussman, a six-foot-three sophomore, has started all three games this season and seven in his career.  Sussman has completed 57 percent of his passes for 303 yards, four touchdowns and an interception.  He has also rushed for 82 yards on 27 carries.
 
In the backfield, Ibitokun-Hanks, a five-foot-nine, 199-pound sophomore, ranks second in the FCS with 465 rushing yards, just 54 yards ahead of SFU's Marcus Bagley (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights).  The sophomore is averaging six yards per carry and leads the FCS with eight rushing touchdowns.  He has also caught four passes for 18 yards.  Kendall Rodgers, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound sophomore, has seven carries this season for 19 yards.
 
Roberson, a six-foot-two sophomore, leads the receiving corps with 10 catches for 175 yards and two scores.  He is averaging 17.5 yards per catch.  Dione Alston, a five-foot-seven sophomore, has four catches for 24 yards and seven carries for 28 yards this year.  Five-foot-eight sophomore Jordan Crockett has three receptions for 49 yards. 
 
The Albany offensive line features three redshirt seniors, a senior and a redshirt junior. The group has combined for 141 starts, with redshirt senior center Adam Wierbinski leading the way with 38 career starts.  Senior left guard Michael Senn has 32 career starts, while redshirt senior right guard Matthew Campion owns 30 career starts.  Redshirt senior Kevin Malloy has 27 career starts, while redshirt junior right tackle Tim Wade has 14.
 
The Great Danes, who run a 4-3 system, ranks 14th in the FCS, allowing 17 points per game.  Albany also allows 402 total yards, ranking 69th in the nation.  The Great Danes give up 226.7 passing yards per game, ranking 72nd, and 175.3 rushing yards per game, ranking 69th.
 
Hoskins, a sophomore, leads the defensive line with 17 tackles, including 11 solo, two sacks and a forced fumble.  At the other end spot is Dolce who has 14 tackles, five solo, with two tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.  Junior nose guard DaeSean Timmons has made 10 stops, while defensive tackle Nick Dillon has eight tackles with half a tackle for loss.
 
At linebacker, Logan, a graduate transfer from Maryland, leads the team with 33 tackles, 15 solo, two for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.  Nicastro, a junior, has recorded 31 tackles, with 14 solo and half a tackle for loss.  He also has two interceptions, including an 80-yard pick-six against Rhode Island.  At the third linebacker spot is senior Neil Morrison, who has eight tackles, four solo, and a fumble recovery.
 
In the secondary, Gray, a sophomore strong safety, leads the group with 17 tackles, including 13 solo, one for loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble.  At free safety, sophomore Josh Wynn has 11 stops, with four solo and half a sack.  Junior corner Jamal Robinson has made 14 tackles, with 11 solo, four pass breakups and an interception, while fellow corner Rayshan Clark, a senior, has 12 tackles, with eight solo, one for loss, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and an interception, which he returned 25 yards for a touchdown against Rhode Island.
 
Freshman Ethan Stark handles the kicking duties.  He has hit one-of-four attempts, a 42-yarder, through three games.  Senior punter Jon Martin averages 42.7 yards per kick, placing five inside the 20 yard line.  Alston handles the kick return duties, where he has 138 yards on seven returns, averaging 19.7 yards per return.  Sophomore Cameron Wynn lines up as the punt returner.
 
The Red Flash will look for its first win in the all-time series against Albany, trailing 14-0 in the series.  This marks the first meeting between the schools since Albany left the Northeast Conference after the 2012 season.
