New Orleans - Led by head coach Doug Hoover, both the men's and women's track and field programs landed on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams on Thursday. In order to qualify, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

The men recorded a 3.257 cumulative gpa to qualify for the honor easily. However, it was the women who were particularly impressive, posting a 3.632 cumulative team gpa, the third highest mark out of all NCAA Division I teams. Only the University of San Francisco and Lipscomb University finished higher.

The women's indoor and outfield track and field team earned NEC Team GPA awards earlier in the month. The indoor team placed 32 of its members on the Winter Academic Honor Roll, 19 of which were Commissioner's Honor Roll members, while the outdoor track and field team placed 33 on the Spring Academic Roll and 19 on the Spring Commissioner's Honor Roll.
