LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis Men's Basketball Sophomore
Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) was named NEC Defensive Player of the Year and freshman
Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./The Lawrenceville School) was selected NEC Rookie of the Year to lead three All-NEC selections. The two, along with fellow All-NEC selection sophomore
Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte), helped the Red Flash to an 11-7 record in NEC play and a 14-15 mark overall.
Â
Nebo is the first player in Saint Francis program history to be named NEC Defensive Player of the Year. The Houston native leads the NEC with 2.4 blocks per game this season. That ranks 22nd in Division I. With 69 total blocks, Nebo has the 21st-most in Division I this year. The sophomore needs just one block to tie the SFU single-season record, set by Melvin Scott in 2000-01. He is also just nine blocks away from Scott's career record (137, 1996-01).
Â
Nebo was also named Third Team All-NEC, his first All-NEC selection of his career. Nebo averages 12.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 57 percent from the floor. The sophomore has recorded six double-doubles this season. He has 23 double-digit scoring and nine double-digit rebound performances this year. He has seven games with four or more blocks, including a career-high seven in a win at Robert Morris on January 12.
Â
Braxton is Saint Francis's third NEC Rookie of the Year in program history, following
Malik Harmon (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) (2013) and Darshan Luckey (2003). The New Jersey native won seven NEC Rookie of the Week awards this season, just one shy of tying the conference's all-time record. Braxton leads SFU with 13.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. Also averages 3.0 assists per game and ranks second on the team with 13 blocks. Braxton ranks 15th in the NEC in scoring, third in rebounding, seventh in field goal percentage (52.7) and steals, ninth in free throw percentage (77.8) and 10th in assists (3.0).  Braxton has 20 double-digit scoring efforts and 16 games with eight or more rebounds.
Â
Braxton, named to the All-NEC Second Team and All-Rookie Team, leads all Division I freshmen in rebounding (8.8 per game). He averages 1.9 more rebounds per game than any other Division I freshman guard. Braxton leads Division I freshmen in defensive rebounds per game (6.7) and ranks fourth among all Division I guards. Braxton has eight double-doubles this season, tied for the fourth-most among Division I freshmen. Braxton was the only freshman to make an All-NEC first, second or third team this year.
Â
Blackmon was named Third Team All-NEC. He is averaging 13.0 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this year. The sophomore is shooting 48 percent from the floor, 49 percent from three-point range and 73 percent from the free throw line. He leads the NEC in three-point percentage and ranks 17th in scoring.

Blackmon has posted 20 or more points in four games this year and has recorded double-digit scoring efforts in 19 contests.
